The Audi Q5 is a premium SUV that features outstanding on-road performance and ride comfort, a sophisticated sporty design and high utility performance. Based on the second-generation new MLB evo modular platform, the design and mechanism have been completely renewed. Although the body size has increased slightly, thorough lightweight design has reduced the vehicle weight by 60 kg compared to the previous model, and the engine (2.0 TFSI) has been powered up and made more efficient, further improving the driving performance while improving fuel efficiency by 11%. The 2.0TFSI engine with a maximum output of 185 kW (252 horsepower) is combined with a 7-speed S tronic and driven by the quattro 4WD system. The lineup includes the 45TFSI quattro, 45TFSI quattro with air suspension, 45TFSI quattro sport, 45TFSI quattro sport with air suspension, and the limited edition Black Edition (limited to 250 units). This time, new entry-level models of the Q5, "40TDI quattro", "40TDI quattro with air suspension", "40TDI quattro sport" and "40TDI quattro sport with air suspension", are available, allowing you to enjoy the driving performance unique to the electronically controlled common rail turbo diesel engine. The latest technology has been generously introduced, and by combining uncompromising environmental performance with 190 horsepower/400 Nm of driving performance, it has achieved high economy and a relaxed driving feel. The Audi Q5 is a series of compact luxury crossover SUVs produced by Audi since 2008. There have been three distinct generations of the vehicle:

First Generation (Typ 8R; 2008-2017):

• Initial Years (2008-2012): Debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in 2008, with the US market introduction in 2009. Initially offered with a 3.2L V6 engine. A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine was added in 2011. Both engines featured Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive and automatic transmissions (six-speed for the V6, eight-speed for the 2.0L).
• Facelift (2013-2017): Received a significant mid-cycle refresh with updated styling and the discontinuation of the six-speed automatic. A supercharged 3.0L V6 replaced the earlier V6. A 3.0L TDI diesel was also offered from 2014-2016. The 2.0L TFSI engine's power was also slightly increased. A hybrid version joined the lineup in 2013.

Second Generation (Typ FY; 2016-Present):

• Initial Years (2016-2020): The second generation was introduced in 2016 as a 2017 model in some markets and as a 2018 model in others. It featured a more mature design and technological advancements. Initially, it was primarily offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing around 252 horsepower, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard Quattro all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid (55 TFSI e) was added later. A more powerful SQ5 version with a turbocharged V6 engine was also available.
• Facelift (2021-Present): The Q5 received another facelift in 2021, featuring updated exterior styling (revised grille, bumpers, and lights), and significant interior technology upgrades, including a new, larger touchscreen infotainment system (10.1-inch standard) and an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster (Virtual Cockpit). The engine options were refined with mild-hybrid technology for improved efficiency. The Sportback version of the Q5 was also introduced with this facelift.

Third Generation (Typ 80A; 2024-Present):

• The third generation of the Audi Q5 was revealed in late 2024 as a 2025 model for Europe and is expected to arrive in Canada in Spring 2025 and India in June 2025. It is based on the new PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) architecture, shared with the new A5 sedan. The design takes inspiration from the Audi R8. It will continue to offer familiar turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 engines, now with optimized chassis, new suspension, and progressive steering. A plug-in hybrid variant will follow. The interior will feature even more technology, including up to three digital displays and software developed using Google's Android Automotive operating system.
