After establishing contact, one of our car import experts will get back to you. During this initial
consultation, you will discuss your preferences, budget, and any speCIFic requirements for your car of
interest.
Step 2: Vehicle Selection
- Customized Search: Our sales team will embark on finding a car that matches your
speCIFications, or the closest available option.
- Personalized Recommendations: Based on your needs and preferences, we will share a few
carefully selected options for you to choose from.
Step 3: Vehicle Sourcing
- Finding Your Car: Once you've made your selection, we will provide you with all the available
information about the car, including speCIFications, condition, approximate duty payable to KRA,
and total landing cost.
- Confirmation and Agreement: After reviewing and confirming details of the selected vehicle,
we’ll then share a sales agreement outlining the terms and conditions.
Step 4: Vehicle Acquisition
- The client will make a minimum deposit of 20% of the CIF (Cost and Freight) cost. This can be
done via bank transfer, Mpesa, or cash deposit.
- Upon confirmation of the payment, we’ll then commence the vehicle purchase process in
Japan.
- After successful purchase, the client is required to top up the initial payment to 50% of CIF.
This allows us to transport the vehicle to the port yard, facilitate inspection and shipping.
- This process usually takes about 5 – 10 business days, depending on the distance from the
car location to the loading port.
Step 5: Vehicle Inspection & Shipping
Once at the port yard, we’ll obtain more photos of the vehicle and provide:
- QISJ Certificate: Quality inspection will be done and a KEBS Certificate of
Roadworthiness issued.
- Export Certificate: This document proves the car was legally registered in Japan, and
that its legal registration has been officially terminated and the car can be exported.
A shipping schedule will be issued, and the Bill of Lading shared after 10-14 business days from the
estimated time of departure (ETD).
Step 6: Ship Arrival and Customs Clearance
The buyer shall pay the balance to clear 100% of the CIF upon issuance of shipping documents (BL), and
before 10 days to estimated time of arrival (ETA) Mombasa.
The Port clearance and vehicle delivery fee should also be paid at this point.
Customs Clearance:
- Our experienced team manages the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with all
regulations. We handle import duties, taxes, and any necessary documentation.
- Duty Payment: We will inform you of the duty amount payable to the Kenya Revenue Authority
(KRA) and guide them through the payment process. The payment will be made under the
client's KRA pin number.
NTSA Registration:
- Vehicle Registration: After the successful payment of duties, the vehicle will be registered with
the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
- Number Plates: An application will be made for vehicle registration, with number plates typically
ready within a week.
- Logbook Processing: The logbook will be processed in about two weeks.
We advise the client to organize for a comprehensive insurance before the vehicle leaves Mombasa.
Step 7: Vehicle Delivery
The vehicle will be delivered and handed over to the client marking the completion of the import
process.
Step 8: After-Sales Support
- Our team is here to support you with any questions or concerns you may have postpurchase.
- We value your feedback and strive to provide exceptional customer service.
